Hello there! This is my first ever post on my Cybersecurity journey, specifically Penetration Testing, so please excuse my awkwardness.
I am new to this field but am hoping my journaling will help those who are new as well to understand more. Perhaps, in some ways, my experience will be useful to give an idea of how and where to begin for those who were just as lost as I was when I first started. This would also be a good opportunity for me to start a habit of taking down notes and a platform to learn from others.
A little bit of myself. I am currently working full-time as a Security Analyst, with about a year+ of experience in IT/Cybersecurity. I am also EC-Council CEHv11, CompTIA Security+ and CySA+ certified.
When I started this journey, I had no idea what I wanted to do. After all, the world of Cybersecurity is huge! Eventually, I came to learn about Penetration Testing and after much consideration, I decided that this is what I want to pursue.
Lo and behold, I am properly starting my Penetration Testing journey. In fact, I have already started it on TryHackMe while pursuing my CompTIA certifications but took a pause during my last stage of revision for CySA+. I will share more about TryHackMe in my next post.
Anyway, I won’t share anything personal, as I would like to keep it private for now (Yes, I am an introvert), but maybe that won’t be the case in the future. That is if anyone even cares ;)
Feel free to message me throughout this journey to point out any mistakes I made or give any tips/advice. I am here to learn as well!
As always, any form of support is most definitely welcomed and appreciated :) Do follow me as well. See you all in the next post!
